ABOUT US

FUGACE FILMS is a boutique independent film company focusing on the development, production and co-production of international films with a strong auteur voice. We are dedicated to amplifying and empowering the voices of the diverse, under-represented and women to tell compelling universal stories. We have two offices, one in France and the other in Singapore.

We find ourselves connecting with the French word Fugace as it captures the way we feel about films and how we see them : they are fleeting moments, much like life itself - a series of ephemeral, transient experiences, which allows us to understand ourselves and our experiences through stories.

FOREWORD

Fugace Films was born from a long-standing friendship between Alex and Edwin, who first met by chance during a university exchange in Sweden fifteen years ago. What began as a shared curiosity grew into a deep creative partnership, rooted in a mutual belief that stories, especially those left untold, carry the power to shape how we see the world.

At Fugace, we are committed to bringing forward the narratives that too often live in the margins - women’s voices, queer perspectives, immigrant experiences, and those shaped by cultural in-betweenness. We believe cinema is not just entertainment but it is also an invitation to imagine, and a quiet rebellion against the conventional narratives.

Through films that are intimate in spirit and global in scope, we aim to build bridges between cultures, challenge the mainstream, and make space for new voices to rise. Fugace Films is a home for stories that linger, fleeting moments yet with a lasting impact.

WHO are we

ALEXANDRA BORZA | CEO - Producer

Alexandra began her career as an engineer and urban planner, bringing over 13 years of experience in real estate development, financing, and the management of large-scale high budget projects. She has led diverse, multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex initiatives with a strong focus on social innovation and sustainability. In her previous role as Head of Operations at Commune Coliving, she tackled social isolation in France by improving housing access for single-parent families. A member of Femmes Business Angel, Alex supports ventures that advance equity and inclusion. Her deepening passion for cinema, another industry marked by structural barriers, now drives her work at Fugace Films, where she is committed to producing bold, female-driven stories that elevate underrepresented voices and push for cultural change.

EDWIN HO | Partner - Director

Originally from Singapore, Edwin is a filmmaker with over a decade of experience in film, media, and immersive production. Based between New York and Paris, he is a Columbia University MFA graduate. His work centers on quiet emotional journeys, women’s resilience, and the tension between societal structure and personal freedom. As a strong ally for women in film, Ho’s cinematic voice is shaped by his upbringing in a matriarchal family and his experience as a queer filmmaker navigating multiple cultures. His films have screened internationally, including at New York’s Lincoln Center. Edwin worked as a VR director-producer in New York, creating award-winning immersive content for clients such as the US Air Force, Swarovski, and the International Rescue Committee. He mentors with NY.SG and founded the Diversity Apéro Club in Paris to promote inclusive representation. He co-founded Fugace Films to champion bold, underrepresented voices across gender, race, and sexuality.
